About Us
In September 2019, we settled into our newly renovated, permanent home in Armon HaNatziv, Jerusalem. This move gave us the opportunity to broaden our programs and foster an even more inclusive and nurturing space where students can thrive.
🌿 Holistic, Growth-Oriented Education
We’re dedicated to building a supportive, healing community where every student can tap into their full potential. Curative education is all about recognizing the inner strengths within each individual and taking a holistic approach that nurtures their growth every step of the way.
👁️🗨️ Seeing the World with Fresh Eyes
In our work, we strive to look at the world and humanity with a deep sense of wonder—to take in the big picture while paying attention to the smallest details, recognizing the wisdom woven into both.
🤝 A Supportive and Healing Community
We believe in embracing both our common ground and our differences, fostering mutual respect, and having the courage to seek shared truths with an open heart.
🌍 Bridging the Individual and the World
At the core of our approach is the unwavering belief in the pure spirit within every person, no matter the challenges they face. From this foundation, we work to build connections—bridging the gap between each individual and the world around them.
🚀 A Lifelong Journey of Growth and Learning
Education is an ongoing journey of growth—not just for our students but for our staff as well. We’re committed to learning together, sharpening our skills, and deepening our understanding through constant self-reflection and ethical awareness.
🍃 Caring for Our World
We take responsibility for the world we live in, encouraging ecological awareness and thinking through the impact of our choices. As part of our commitment to health education, we go the extra mile to provide students and staff with nourishing, wholesome food.
🤝 A Strong, Nurturing Community
We believe in fostering deep, meaningful connections with students' families and the broader community, creating an educational space that heals, enriches, and brings people together. Beyond equipping students with essential life skills for greater independence, we make sure that love, courage, and hope are at the heart of everything we do—for our students, their families, and the community around us.
Our Educational Approach
New Dvir operates six days a week, including holidays and the summer months, from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The program also offers an extended school day, managed by the Ministry of Welfare in collaboration with the Shekel Association.
Beyond daily studies, students ages 14 and up take part in hands-on vocational workshops designed to prepare them for future employment. These include:
Once a month, the school hosts a special event: the Community Café Gathering. This unique gathering welcomes visitors from across the city and brings together local volunteers.
There are only two schools in Israel that follow the principles of anthroposophic curative education.
We believe that every student is unique, and our approach is centered on identifying and nurturing each child’s individual strengths.
Beyond education, our school is a diverse and inclusive community—bringing together students, staff, and families from all backgrounds to create a warm, supportive, and integrated learning environment.
Community Connections
These connections give our students a true sense of belonging and meaningful ways to engage with the wider community.
Community café During the school year, on the first Friday of each month, we open our doors to welcome neighborhood residents for a warm and special gathering at our school. Here, you’ll get to indulge in homemade pastries and bread, fresh salads, an assortment of cakes, and fluffy omelets, all paired with high-quality coffee. Alongside the café experience, you can browse a small market featuring handcrafted goods from student workshops, medicinal plant seedlings, and enjoy live music performances. But above all, you’ll experience a joyful, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere. |
Testimonials
What I love about this school is that both students and staff have the opportunity to grow and express who they truly are. My passion for soap-making and working with nature is an essential part of me, and the school allows me to share and spread that passion. It creates a deep sense of connection and fulfillment among us. When someone buys a soap from our workshop, what they really see is the love that the students have poured into it
